“All Night Sun Light” is an unabashed plunge into shimmering, modern machine pop that makes as much sense filed alongside The Human League and Depeche Mode in your record collection as it does on a sweat and strobe-soaked dancefloor at 4am.

Nobody would deny that the long-time presence of the Cocoon Family in the Balearic hot spot has left noticeable traces in the history of electronic dance music. With this double mix in early summer already, Cocoon gives – just like in the past two years – an acoustic foretaste of what is expecting the clubbers at the nights of the “10 Years Of Craziness” season.

The Detroit DJ will follow in the footsteps of 2020 owner Ralph Lawson and edit king Greg Wilson, compiling his personal favourites from the label onto a single mixed CD. Pullen actually goes back quite far with the label, who are celebrating fifteen years on the scene this year. As Ralph Lawson explains, “Stacey was one of the first DJs to send us a fax to say he liked one of our tracks (”Raptures of the Deep”). When you are starting out, to receive praise from someone of his standing reallymotivates you – it was a big moment for us. We got in touch with Stacey and asked him to remix the track which he did, and to have him on the label really cemented our reputation.”

With his debut longplayer “A Thousand Nights” from 2007 Gregor Tresher undoubtedly upgraded himself into the Champions League of European Techno Artists, the titlesong was the year’s best selling techno song on Beatport, and also the following releases on labels like Josh Wink’s Ovum or Dubfire’s Sci Tec made it into the playlists of almost every bigname DJ around the world.

Now it seems that Gregor has taken the next step and comes up with an artist album that paints the big picture: Of course, there are the floorburners everyone knows Mr. Tresher for – the title track “The Life Wire”, that will be prereleased on a limited vinyl edition already found its place in the recordcases (or do we have to say file-libraries nowadays?) of every big DJ in the business and it seems as if Gregor delivered one of the summer anthems of 2009. Also, the second prereleased track “Escape To Amsterdam”, that has been instantly picked by Dutch Techno-Don Dylan Hermelijn aka 2000 and One for a remix, ignited dancefloors wherever Gregor played it out.

His iconic 1994 masterpiece stripped dance music back to the barest of elements yet retained a loose and dirty funk that many so called ‘minimal’ records lack today. Having inspired 1000’s of producers and DJs across the globe and starting a genre a decade before it was popularly recognized nothing before or since has sounded like it. We now welcome a re-mastered Special Edition of this classic release 15 years after it changed the face of techno. Featuring the unreleased ‘SH-101’ (made during the same sessions) and the very rare ‘Self-Powered’ (which only appeared on the Axis test press), Robert Hood’s Minimal Nation gets its first full CD and digital release.

Combine the knowledge of Babylonia, Pythagoras, astrological philosophy from Hellenistic Alexandria, early Christian mysticism, the occultism of the early Gnostics, the Hebrew system of the Kabbalah, The Indian Vedas, the Chinese “Circle of the Dead”, and the Egyptian “Book of the Master of the Secret House”, and you’re still not even close to cracking the genetic code of ‘Eleven’, Namito’s first ever longplayer released on Martin Eyerer’s Kling Klong label.
